ECHO PROTOCOL
-ECHO is not a school nor are we accredited by any state or national educational agency.
-The ECHO instructors are either a veteran home school parent, a retired/certified educator, or a work-world professional. Each has a background in the respective coursework, a passion for that subject, and a desire to prepare students for life.
-In order to accomplish this, we must have boundaries in place to ensure these goals can be met. We would like to list our policy regarding discipline, in the rare event it must be implemented.

1. The instructor will be in charge of the class and outline expected behavior/protocols. Students are expected to be self-governing and respectfully comply.

2. If a teacher needs assistance with redirecting behavior, he/she will contact a member of the ECHO Team and ask for assistance or simply make a report.

3. The ECHO Team will offer appropriate assistance or, if the situation so warrants, take the matter of discipline as their responsibility to make a decision.

4. In each situation, the parent will be notified and become a part of a successful outcome.

5. Should the ECHO Team make a decision which is not acceptable to the student, the parent may appeal this decision to the Board of Directors AFTER ten days.

6. Students who purposefully distract from the teachers objective or disrupt the learning climate for other students may be subject to disciplinary action. Such action can include but is not limited to teacher/staff verbal reprimand, written reprimand, removal from class, and possible dismissal from ECHO.

DRESS CODE

Our ECHO DAY focus is academic. We expect our students to participate in that focus by dressing in a manner which does not draw undue attention to the individual.

For the ECHO Gals:
Modesty Rules: NO SHORT-SHORTS (e.g. running shorts, cut-offs), tank tops, low-scooped necklines, tight-fitting leggings (unless worn under clothing), form-fitting tops/bottoms, and no short hemlines.

Loveliness Rules: Make-up is lovely indeed. The bold, face paint stays at home. Hairstyles are flattering. The dangerous-looking style (The ones that look like weapons…) stay home.

For the ECHO Guys:
Handsome Rules: Pants are worn at the waist: NO SAGGY-BAGGY and NO SHORT-SHORTS (e.g. running shorts, cut-offs), no tank tops. Hairstyles are flattering. The dangerous-looking style (The ones that look like weapons…) stay home.

HEALTH PLAN

OUR PLAN WILL BE SIMPLE TO KEEP ECHO FACE-TO-FACE TEACHING:

1. Parents, please do not send students who have a fever. Please do a fever-check at home before school each Tuesday/Thursday.

2. Parents, please discuss personal boundaries. This is a simple matter of respect.

3. Parents, at the beginning of the year, please send a roll of paper towels for ECHO use.

4. Teachers will direct student participation in helping to "clean up" room - just as we have always done.

5. ECHO will provide effective - but chemical free - spray/sanitizer for each classroom.

"Return to your house and describe what great things God has done for you" So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.  Luke 8:39 (NAS)
